Did you have 'nerve' to bomb people during ‘pandemic’?

By S R Ranjan: The COVID-19 pandemic was a learning experience for all the nations and an opportunity for the word to ‘build back better’ to a ‘new normal’ world order with resilience to achieve larger sustainable development goals. The world, global leaders, Mr/Mrs Presidents and Mr/Mrs Prime Ministers of countries missed the opportunity to learn, unlearn and relearn and reveled in the world of groups ‘G’– G20, G14, G8, G7, G5…leading to a transformation of ‘Globalization’ into ‘Polarization’? The world is back to square one and to its usual ‘Games of Wars’, ‘Business of Everything’ and the ‘Politics of Power’. Is the world slipping from ‘bad’ to ‘worse’ and ‘urgent to ‘emergency’?

During the pandemic, everyone – world leaders, Mr/Mrs Presidents and Mr/Mrs Prime Ministers, the terror groups, militia groups, rebellion organizations,, revelers, technology and AI masterminds, the billionaires and celebrities, scientists and space explores who want find life on moon/mars and yes the Sun – were like sitting ducks praying for life with no clue whatsoever of the COVID-19 pandemic and dying people, that nearly killed over 7 million people across countries, East-West and North-South sparing none and who’s who. Almost everyone was ‘lockdown’ inside homes, maintaining distance and even avoiding touching the other person.

It was a lifetime experience for the world about the threat to existence of humanity. Everything then was shut down and closed only to explode now that the pandemic is almost over, in all directions and in whatever ways to grab and snatch, act mindlessly and unleash the frustration of defeat and loss caused by a virus, on the weaker countries and people. The genocide, killings and bloodbath in the Gaza due to Israel-Palestine war and the Russia-Ukraine war, civil war in Sudan are just examples.

The inability and helplessness of the United Nations, Veto of Resolution for a Ceasefire by the US, the ineffective COP28 for an end to fossil fuel and fight against climate change, growing inequality, poverty and hunger, changing geopolitics and world order with new polarization of countries speak in volumes about the volatile dynamics of the global scenario and the state of not so ‘new normal’ to’ build back better’ global resolve.

When was the last times world talked about ‘The Great Globalization’ that beyond borders had  brought people, cultures, economies, business, technologies, trade, good and services together, fostered interrelationships among countries, interconnection of ideas and information, inter-dependency of investments and most importantly the confidence of trust among the world leaders.

The world needs to rethink ‘New Globalization’, ‘World Peace’ and ‘United Action’ to ‘build back better’ for a ‘new normal’. “No one Safe until everyone is Safe”. What is the mechanical ‘fake’ show of ‘pseudo’ power on helpless people now against the humanity? “Don’t choose extinction”!
