A clarion call for global action

By S R Ranjan: This decade will be known for COVID-19? The world must awake to a new dawn and unleash the power of humanity that sustains life. National boundaries can no longer protect people or a country, we can combat global crisis like —pandemics, climate change, poverty, human rights violations and widening inequality — when we work together.

COVID-19 has given us an opportunity to move towards a new normal way to rebuild a sustainable future. Now, most of the world witnessed how our lives would be made miserable and change due to a health crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today, in the midst of a global health crisis, as the world steps into a new year, facing the pandemic challenges head on, it is critical for us all to ‘rethink’ and start over again, so that we do not risk our future livelihood, societies, generations and environment. It's time, all as ‘global citizens’ need to envision a world in sync with the nature’s coexistence, where growth is sustainable and people can live in a “level playing field” with freedom, dignity, security, rights and happiness. It is no more about the survival of fittest or building this future alone, but together.

We all have to be ‘the change’ we want to see and the future we want to build. Around the globe, people’s power is the hope that can set the accountability for global actions by working in unison.

Millions… no we are in billions, human resource can be best used for global services with a sense of togetherness and commitment to make the world a better place to live.

Now the onus is upon us and the ball is in our court. Take the responsibility and deal with it!
